We wish to inform our friends and sponsors that John Gillard, Principal at Oarsome Chance, resigned from his role at the beginning of May 2022. John was responsible for leading the development of Oarsome Chance, from its humble beginnings, engaging and influencing a range of young people in a local community project. John is continuing this important work to enable young people on a pathway towards employment.
John has noted: “I have enjoyed every second of my time, and I have been blessed to work with the most fantastic students, volunteers, staff, and Trustees. I am truly lucky to have been a small part of…where Oarsome Chance has got to today. As I leave, I wish to raise a toast to you all. To the next 5 years and beyond.”
On behalf of the Trustees, staff, volunteers and students of Oarsome Chance, Graham Whitehead (Interim Chair of Trustees), said: “John has contributed to the fledgling years of Oarsome Chance’s development and has been an influential staff member. We wish him all the best with his future endeavours and know that his enthusiasm and dedication to improving the lives of disadvantaged young people, will be welcomed.”
