There are three strands to the Oarsome Chance delivery model, designed to meet the individual needs of young people
Our alternative provisions, Oarsome Foundations (pre-16) and Oarsome Pathways (post-16), work with young people referred to us by schools and local authority. Plus a broader reach of activities though our evolving Oarsome Community programme.
Across all programmes, Oarsome Chance delivers a rich range of activities, both workshop-based and physical, helping young people understand their strengths and interests and identify new skills and opportunities.
Oarsome Chance is an approved NCFE provider so young people can work towards NCFE accredited qualifications in a range of activities. NCFE are one of the largest technical and vocational awarding organisation in the UK.
Our pre-16 Alternative Education provision, working with young people aged 9-16, delivering a range of practical learning and enrichment activities, alongside wellbeing support.
We work closely with partner agencies, schools, local authorities and parents/carers to offer a bespoke package, focused on each individual to enable the best chance to achieve.
Our Post 16 Alternative provision, working with young people aged 16 - 19, empowers young people with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to access further education, training and/or employment.
We are currently developing our programme of activities with a broader reach across our community, including holiday activities and after school clubs.
If you are a local organisation, or parent / carer who would be interested in contributing feedback and ideas for how we can meet the needs of our local young people, let us know, we'd love to hear from you (see the 'Contact Us' link at the top of the page).
